Yes We Support Our Troops

And sometimes those “troops” are the representatives we send to do our bidding.

From time to time, a local board or unit of government will show its support to those who were selected by the community they represent for work done elsewhere. In 2019, it was a vote of support for Larry Inman and Wayne Schmidt that passed unanimously on Jan 16. And when I say “unanimously” I mean there were no “nay” votes. No votes against the resolution, because from time to time even opposing political folks on the board understand that when a community sends its best, they do best to cheer them on for good they do in Lansing and elsewhere.

Today’s political climate may have changed this however. There is little “us” anymore. We are burdened with hyper-partisan activities, and amplification of narrative peddled by the most extreme activists of the left.

The following resolution from 2019 was passed sans a single dissent:

And as a unanimously approved resolution, it means that both commissioners Hundley, AND Coffia had no issue with such tokens of appreciation being offered to our representatives. I am sure they must appreciate the resolution offering support for General Jack Bergman in tomorrow’s agenda, yes?

The General has represented the community very well, was elected with a resounding majority, and has provided good reason to be recognized for his achievements. He was a good soldier, is a good man, and reflects our values very well.

Its time we let him know.
